Kenalog Injection

At Modern Med, we perform effective Kenalog Injection treatments for patient’s who’d like to:

  • Quickly treat large bumps in the inner layers of the skin
  • Get visible results within 4-8 hours
  • Dissolve acne cysts without damaging the surface of the skin
  • Prevent scarring from severe cystic acne

If you have severe cystic acne that causes aches, you’ll get the most benefits from this procedure. To determine if this treatment is the most suitable option for you, you’ll meet with one of our nurses and do an in-depth consultation, where we discuss your medical history and skin concerns. If you have a medical history of triamcinolone allergy or have an active skin infection, then Kenalog Injections aren’t for you.

Kenalog injection

(Kenalog) Triamcinolone is a medication that has strong anti-inflammatory properties. When injected into the cystic acne, it automatically reduces the redness and inflammation and flattens the lesion, so the skin begins to heal instantly. While it’s not a treatment for chronic acne, it reduces imperfections such as inflammation, nodules, and cysts caused by blemishes. Its primary function is to treat excessive inflammation and acne problems, and it’s not a preventative method. The quick results on dissolving cystic acne conditions make it the most preferred option for patients.

The injections reduce swelling and inflammation of the treated area. The skin area we administer the injections will depend on which area has moderate to severe acne, acne lesions, or cystic acne. We’ve performed this treatment on several patients’ foreheads, chins, arms, etc.

The results will appear within one week. The results continue to improve for six to ten weeks after the injection.

Once the injection is inserted, the improvements last for at least three weeks.

To get optimal results, don’t consume blood-thinning medications and supplements for one week before the procedure, such as aspirin, vitamin E, garlic, or turmeric. Avoid drinking alcohol for twenty-four hours before getting the injection.

If you get mild to moderate irritation, put a cold pack on the treated area. You may take tablets to reduce the mild symptoms. Get immediate medical care if symptoms worsen.
